 Reading Jewish Film Series Moves to  Fox Berkshire

Will the film series continue?

                YES! The 2020 Reading Jewish Film Series will continue on the same dates and times at Fox Berkshire, 800 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, starting with our November 10th film, Cojot. Visit our website www.readingjewishcommunity.org for more details on the films and a complete schedule.

Will ticket prices change?

                No. As previously advertised, pricing for the 2020 Reading Jewish Film Series will be $6 per film or $35 for the series of seven films for JCC members. Non-members will pay $8 per film or $50 for the series of seven films.

Where can I purchase tickets?

                Tickets can be purchased at the box office or kiosks at Fox Berkshire (800 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing) or online at www.foxshowtimes.com. Series tickets can only be purchased at the box office.

Is online ticketing available?

                Yes. Tickets are available online at www.foxshowtimes.com. Please note there is a $1.75 ticketing fee for online purchases. This fee does not apply to tickets purchased at the theatre.

What payment methods are accepted?

                Cash or credit card. Fox Theatres gift cards also accepted.

Will there be reserved seats?

                Yes, there will be reserved seating.  Seat selection takes place at the time of purchase (either at the theatre or online). 


READING JEWISH FILM SERIES

 

The Jewish Cultural Center is proud to announce the sixth season of the Reading Jewish Film Series, co-sponsored by FOX Theatre the Rubin Educational Fund of the Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks.  Admission is $6 per film or $35 for the series of seven films for JCC members; $8 per film or $50 for the series of seven films for non-members.  Films will be shown on Wednesday evenings at 7pm at FOX Theatre,with two special events on Sundays at 3pm.  Tickets can be purchased at the theater beginning a half hour before the showtime on the day of the screening or series tickets can be bought at the JCC. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.

 SHOELACES tells the story of a complicated relationship between an aging father and his special-needs son, whom he abandoned while he was still a young boy.  The film portrays a relationship full of love, rejection, and co-dependency and raises questions of the importance of human life, human connection, and if life is even possible without either one of them.
 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10 — 3:00 PM
COJOT
USA|2019|Documentary|English 85 minutes|Directed by Boaz Dvir

 COJOT: A Second Chance Comes Only Once tells the virtually unknown story of a Parisian banker who risks everything to hunt down Gestapo commander Klaus Barbie and plays a pivotal role in one of history’s most daring hostage-rescue operations.  Cojot embodies the modern era’s vital dilemmas: how to lead a purposeful life and reconcile Western ideals of liberty, equality and justice with the bitter memories of WWII and the rise of global terrorism.


The film will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Boaz Dvir, professor at Penn State University Main Campus and the son-in-law of Pastor Alan Wolkenhauer from Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading.

 He swam with crocodiles and killer whales, with anacondas and with great white sharks. But one major predator has always eluded Amos Nachoum. The legendary underwater photographer always dreamed of swimming underwater with a polar bear and capturing it face-to-face on film. The danger is real but this is his last chance to get the picture of his life.


The film will be followed by a discussion with one of the filmmakers, Dani Menki
